Staff surgeries and supervision sessions are professional, solution orientated conversations in which staff discuss a particular issue with Kathy who provides a professional educational psychologist's perspective. These sessions are suitable for any member of staff or school leader. Topics for discussion might be related to issues with an individual child, a class, group of students or whole school issue. They are primarily focussed on the issue rather than on the professional development or wellbeing of the adult although reflection and learning is likely to take place during the session.

Work to clarify the strengths, personal characteristics and any areas of difficulty experienced by individual children and young people. The aim of consultation and assessment is to increase understanding of the child or young person as a unique individual and help adults develop plans to meet their needs. This helps ensure that they have the best educational experience possible so they can thrive and fulfill their potential. Clear written reports provided by the psychologist support this process.
